more than a week since the starman left us, & the loss of this musical hero is still heavy with me. i know it's the same for many of you.
the blackstar, which is both the cover graphic for bowie's final album & a cancer-related term, has now, for me, come to represent his death & the cursed disease that brought it.
the bluebird, however, symbolizes his rise to freedom from the blackstar, as suggested in the lyrics of his last video, "Lazarus":
"Just like that bluebird
Oh, I'll be free
Ain't that just like me?"
