One of the first songs I ever wrote came from sitting in my 1976 Ford F100 (no A/C), in the middle of July, in backed up traffic on Main Street in Downtown Woodstock, Ga. I was going to practice guitar with someone and felt I needed to look the part to play the part.
I was dressed in all denim with a wool hat.
As I sat there with sweat drops rolling down my face, the only words that came to mind were "It's too damn hot, to try and look this damn cool". I survived that day and a song was born.
